Board of Directors

Lloyd G. Nelson II is an IT Consultant for Protiviti Inc. He holds an Executive MBA from The Georgia Institute of Technology and is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Combining his mathematical expertise and service, Lloyd assisted The Atlanta Children's choir as a Summer Music and Math Camp instructor. Lloyd is an advocate and mentor for children of all ages and has volunteered in school productions and with Soka Gakki International to bring inspiration and encouragement to youth in the Atlanta area.

Carla Okwumabua has taught high school mathematics in the Cobb County School System for 20 years. Her love of music began early on as she played the clarinet in band and later joined the Spelman College Glee Club. Mrs. Okwumabua has assisted the Atlanta Children's Choir as a math teacher during our summer Music and Math Camp and is a great supporter of children and the arts.

Selima Harelston-Lust is the co-founder of Iwilla Remedy Inc. Dedicated to healing and nurturing of individuals young and old through the power of herbalism, self empowerment and social-emotional development, Mrs. Harleston-Lust has been an invaluable member of The Atlanta Children's Choir Board. She holds degrees from Spelman College and Columbia University.

Laconia Massaquoi currently serves as the Chair of Music at GEMS International School in the United Arab Emirates. She has experience teaching primary and secondary school music in Georgia and internationally, and was was awarded The Mariamma Varkey Award for Inspirational and Outstanding Teaching. As a world traveler and teacher extrodinare, Ms. Massaquoi gives a humanitarian perspective to the arts, that is so valued for the children of The Atlanta Children's Choir.
